You've had those times in your life: too many demands leave you feeling irritable, anxious or unfocused. Perhaps you've lost interest in sex. Or maybe sudden sounds or movements send you jumping out of your chair. While life demands might trigger your symptoms, here at Mt. Angel Vitamins we have created Relaxing Passion Flower lozenges, designed to help bring you back to a more relaxed state of mind.
The leaves and roots of this flowering vine were traditionally used by Native Americans for relief of general discomfort and to encourage sleep
Helps to promote relaxation
Use in conjunction with an established bedtime routine to help achieve a restful night's sleep
Located in the small town of Mt. Angel, Oregon, we are a locally-grown company with big aspirations. Established in 1974, our founders envisioned a product line not only committed to using wholesome ingredients and effective formulas, but also staying true to our Oregon roots by implementing green and holistic manufacturing practices.
Today, we bring a simple, proactive approach to reaching and maintaining optimal health and well-being. Our products--all formulated, manufactured, and bottled completely in house--are designed to make vitamins and supplements simple again so you can confidently continue on your path to complete health and wellness. Performing all of our own manufacturing means that you can worry less about where your vitamins have been, and that leaves you more time to focus on what really matters in life, whether that's family, work, or training for that 10k.
What Happens when our Bodies get Stressed?
While perhaps "stress" to you means that you get overly emotional, you can't sleep, or you reach for that extra cup of coffee in the middle of the day, your body is really having a chemical reaction to stress. A neurotransmitter called gamma-aminobutyric acid (also known as GABA) is triggered when our bodies begin to feel the effects of stress. A calming brain chemical, GABA not only induces relaxation and reduces the effects of stress and anxiety, but it also helps to balance all of your other neurotransmitters. When GABA levels are not sufficient, you may feel unprepared to handle even the most mundane life situations.
Get a GABA boost!
Daily moderate exercise will do wonders for improving your mood and stamina, as will a menu containing foods that naturally increase the production of neurotransmitters. Avoid simple sugars and the white foods: white rice, white flour (bread, pastries, pasta) and white potatoes. Focus your diet on fruits, vegetables, whole grains and lean sources of protein, especially those high in the conditional essential amino acid glutamine, which is the precursor to GABA. (Conditional amino acids are those that we typically don't need to consume as the body is able to synthesize them, except in times of illness and stress.) Food sources of glutamine include beef, chicken, fish and beans. Or, for even more added GABA support, enjoy the benefits of Passion Flower extract!
